Bulletin de la Société minéralogique de France (1878-1885)

From its creation in 1878, the Société minéralogique de France has published a monthly bulletin. At that time, it was directed by Alfred Des Cloizeaux (1817-1897), recalled by these terms in the Notice historique sur Francois-Sulpice Beudant et Alfred-Louis-Olivier Legrand des Cloizeaux, membres de la section de minéralogie de l’Académie des Sciences, lue dans la séance publique annuelle du 15 décembre 1930 par M. Alfred Lacroix, secrétaire perpétuel :

« True Benedictine, working all the time, imperturbable, he was not interested in theories, that is why he did not create or discuss any, but he was passionate about painstaking observations and the numerical factors, and he did more that the most trained scientists of his time. »

You can find in the Jubilothèque the thesis defended by Des Cloizeaux in 1857 and his Mémoire sur la cristallisation et la structure intérieure du quartz dated 1855, both brought up by Alfred Lacroix in this same text, and his preface to the Traité élémentaire de minéralogie by Félix Pisani published in 1875. In the Jubilothèque, you can also consult his inputs in the Bulletin de la Société géologique de France, in which a speech, delivered in the name of the SGF on Des Cloizeaux’s tomb was published (3ème série, tome 25 (1897)) :

The Bibliothèque nationale de France has digitized the issues of the Bulletin de la Société française de minéralogie published betwen 1886 and 1932, they are avaible on Gallica.
